Cape Town based designer Craig Port is at the forefront of fashion and has become one of the definitive arbitrators of South African lifestyle.
Craig has made his mark on international runways over the last decade, having shown his collections in Mexico, Cape Town, Stockholm and Johannesburg. His annual collection is shown religiously at Cape Town Fashion Week, and is one of the most anticipated showcases of the event with fashionistas diarizing it months in advance.
The “Port Magic” glows in his diverse collections, each one reflecting his personal style, energy, enthusiasm and passion. The Port and Miss Port collections adorn rails at YDE, whilst the distinctive jewelry collection shines in display cases at Galaxy & Co. In addition, Port’s bespoke furniture collection stands proud at Wunders, and his recently launched fragrances, Paragon for Him and Her have gained wide recognition, making him one of the few South African designers to own a signature scent.
Cape Town is his inspiration, his summer playground, and the city’s resort fever has a large influence on all aspects of his designs, making each one a desirable and fun masterpiece. Craig is crazy about travel and through exploring new places and experiencing different cultures his work consistently has a global edge.
Being a mentor and inspiration in the ever growing South African design business, he spearheaded the Richard Bloom Foundation in 2006. The Foundation offers bursaries and internships to exceptional designers from disadvantaged backgrounds.
